I apologize for my earlier hasty post. It may have not been in the best
of format, nor the ideas clearly stated, but the conversation is there
(and the paper was nice:), so the flames were worth it.

There was some discussion about what was "wise", etc concerning
honeypots and baiting, and I wanted to see what types of
responses/downfalls others had seen from the same
utilities/tricks/traps/gotchas/etc.

I wondered if posting a trick to this list would decrease in its
effectiveness, maybe j o n n y d o t I h a c k s t u f f would be a
better way to include references?

I would have never thought of enticing warez people via gnutella, that
is a truly excellent idea! sorry it didn't work out, you might want to
post l0phtCrack.zip or source.pix.c which then unzips to a "bill gates
rules!!" GUI scheme. It has potential, but B. Spears enthusiasts will
not be the ones to entice ;) and (as L pointed out) make sure your
filename is unique.

I was going to ask what types of enticements got the best response, but
(as the rxmr's message reminded me: d'oh!) this might not be the place
to advertise :(

Obscure or not, I guess they will be useless if posted.

Is that true?

If so, is there a place/way to discuss/trade tricks via post/email?

is 1 to 1 the only way to (semi) securely exchange data?

Again all apologies for the earlier post, hope I didn't ruin a good
thing..
