Hi,

If all computers on a LAN / WAN and you can reach them (even if they are not
under a domain tree) all you need is passwords of their local administrator
accounts; or just have one with admin privilages in there.

We use and offer Shavlik HFNetChkPro and with this tool, you can manage
login creditals of HFNetChkPro to login the remote computer.

Then it is OK :)

It scans and deploys ALL SPs and Patches desired.

But they expect you to patch them ?
Who it installing the workstations ? If you are, then I would recomend some
kinda of basic image that you deply, that way you have just a little bit
control of then workstations.
