I've seen the same behavior on multiple systems with Zone Alarm
installed, but I've not investigated the matter closely.  Manually
applying the downloaded patches from MS Technet seemed to work for me.
WU has been getting hammered since the patch release so this may be just
performance issues with the site.  Sorry I can't offer much more than an
additional data point at any rate.
