Yes, this was certainly the case for me also.  It did however eventually reach an installation and successfully complete.  Could it be that there is some kind of digital signature checking with Microsoft after the download and before the install that would be slowed down with everyone going to WUS in the last few days, I seem to remember it was this slow for ASN1 patch too?

I ran Windows Update on one of our W2K servers on Wednesday night which
download the latest batch of patches from Microsoft. All the patches were
downloaded and seem to be installed OK, but when the it got up to the patch
KB837001 (MS04-014), the progress bar reaches 100% and there it stayed. In
the end, I had to kill the WU process.

I then tried to run Windows Update on my PC, and again the same thing
happened. Has anyone else experience this so far?
