Actually, You can send out multiple patches with Patchlink by using
their PDK. This allows you to send out a string of patches.

I too trialed Patchlink and stating that their agent installation tool
is cumbersome is definitely putting it nicely. I found it downright
unpleasant. I had issues getting agents to deploy successfully from the
start. In addition, the Patchlink product only has the capability to
deploy 1 patch at a time. How many times have we seen Microsoft release
only 1 critical security patch? I quickly removed them from my
evaluation product list. I have trialed Ecora, Big Fix and HFNetChkPro
as well. We are currently using St. Bernard's Update Expert and I have
been unsatisfied with it as it lacks some of the features that I require
as well as being quite inconsistent in the successful deployment of
patches. I have settled on HFNetChkPro and absolutely love the product.
Shavlik was gracious enough to grant me a trial license that had enough
seats that I could test its grouping and reporting features during a
recent deployment to my production servers. I manage 800 servers and
need a product that is reliable and user friendly.

I trialed PatchLink here and liked the idea of patch management and
hardware & software auditing, but didn't like having to install an agent
to do all of that. Found their agent installs cumbersome to say it
nicely. I guess was expecting something like HFNetChkPro to scan the
network and at least tell me which workstation was not being patched or
audited. I don't know maybe I am partial o HFNetChkPro, and found their
product extremely intuitive and easy to use & setup right out of the
"box". However, I did like PatchLink being able to scan & patch Win9x
boxes, and I have heard that HFNetChkPro can, but with agents and even
some Linux distros...

We are primarily a Novell shop but have a small AD for custom apps, and
currently run ZENworks. Our desktops are mixture of Win98 to Win2k Pro.
We are evaluating the ZEN Patch Management product (formerly Patchlink).
Was curious to know if anyone else out there is using this. I'd love to
get all the feedback I can from other users of this product. Pros &
cons.
