 In this situation it is important to document
 that you tried to get patching and have documentation
 you were overrulled and by whom.

 Sometimes merely asking for a signed memo is enough
 to get a decision rethought.

 People lose jobs over this stuff and it really should
 be the responsible person not an innocent party.
