Dear DF

I am told by a lawyer that all important cases (and I suspect these =
should
be) will be fully reported in the more August papers as Court reports. =
These
will encapsulate the trial as to what happened, and, I believe, the =
basic
legal arguments.

Of course, if these trials are 'unimportant', then there will be no such
documentation (one recent groundbreaking trial with regard to 'making
pornography' was so regarded as unimportant).

But IANAL.

Since it appears we're now going to have a few prosecutions under this =
act,
and given the discussions on the list about it recently, I'd be =
interested
in seeing just what standard the Crown has to meet wrt to the charges.

I assume that once the trial is over, I should be able to write to the
clerk of the court and get a transcript (any idea of cost?), but is =
that
all that comes into the public domain afterwards?

I doubt I'll have the time or inclination to actually travel down to
London to actually try and attend in person.

Hmm - raises the issue again about should trials be allowed to be =
televised,
the USA experience shows the good (and bad) side of allowing it.

DF
