We know that they are read out to Mr Blunkett who then says yes to
almost all of them, if not all of them. This is supposed to be
supervision.

Of course we know that they are not. In order to make things easier for
those hiding behind the Home Office the time period was increased from
one to three months (from memory). That is also a clever way to magic
the figures down, which of course nobody in the Home Office thought of:-
