In article <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes
One of the main reasons that debates don't survive a shift of venue is
expecting people to invest in new subscriptions and new tools (let
alone new platforms). It's only topped by trying to shift the workflow
model from off-line ASCII to online HTML.

I agree, that's why I suggested something that has an plaintext nntp
interface.

New subscriptions, new tools (in particular migrating to nntp rather than email, and having a newsreader that can access more than one server at once). I prefer a "news" type interface, and the threading that implies. But most of the world seems to stick doggedly to email. It's also a dubious practice to rely on a proprietary 3rd party system, however tasty it might be.
