The inmates of the USA are perfectly capable of creating mayhem on
their own, without the attentions of anyone from outside.
Thinking one's country is full of lovely people and only faces attack
from "outsiders" may be reassuring, but it is bound to fail.

I'm not sure. While USAians can sometimes appear to have descended from
Coropral Jones this is to some extent the product of the mass media.
Plenty of people living in that country have a quiet stoic quality as
great as people of any other country.
